Meanwhile, the bailout for banks in Cyprus is coming into question among German MPs. Why? Angela Merkel is demanding assets sales by the government but the Cypriot president opposes them.
There is also concern that a large slice of any aid deal could go to Russians who have laundered money through Cyprus. The Opposition SPD chairman said it was inconceivable that German taxpayers would "save Cypriot banks whose business model is based on facilitating tax evasion".
